What Counts as an Inappropriate Prom Dress?

We all have seen that one girl who gets a huge, horrible attitude with a sponsor or other chaperone because her formal dresses, prom dresses, short dresses, cocktail dresses, etc, just don’t cut it. You may not be entirely sure what she’s doing wrong though—and this article is here to help you.

First of all, if you can’t wear it to school, chances are that you probably cannot wear it to prom. However, there are also a few exceptions, depending on your school. If you aren’t sure if your choices for prom dresses are appropriate, then your best bet would be to check your school prom dress code and also check up with your sponsors. Don’t get angry if they say that you need to pick something else. They aren’t the ones who make the rules and they are only doing it in your benefit.

Next, an inappropriate prom dress may have a really short skirt. The same goes for necklines, if you are in danger of falling out and flashing the whole dance floor—then you may want to look for another dress. There are a lot of options that will fall into most schools prom dress code. A ballgown is one of the most appropriate and timeless prom dress someone could buy.
